You should have a mixing container that can hold 3 cups of water and still have enough space to

add 2 cups of the finished product, and still be able to mix both together, and be able to use a

paint brush.  You can always add a little more water or the product to meet your purpose.  As an

example, the more slurry the better for painting, the dryer the mix the better as a mortar, and

remember to use small quantities.
